Aerobility make moving aircraft fully accessible

This week saw the exciting arrival of the Aerobility radio controlled towbar.

Striving to create absolute accessibility as ever, the towbar gives people with a disability the ability to move aircraft with ease and safety.

The futuristic towbar uses advanced technology to automatically connect itself to the aircraft nose wheel and is driven using a handheld remote control. This removes the need to physically push the planes in and out of the hangar at Blackbushe.

Volunteer Christmas BBQ

We stuck to our unconventional roots last night by hosting a Christmas BBQ to thank our team of dedicated volunteers for their hard work throughout 2014.

Chief flying instructor James was in charge of the BBQ serving hot dogs and burgers whilst Service Development Coordinator Bridie and Office Administrator Sue kept the mulled wine flowing.

Aerobility HQ was filled with Christmas songs and everyone wore their worst Christmas accessories to add some sparkle to the evening!

CEO Mike Miller-Smith ended the night with a special Aerobility Quiz which saw volunteers win prizes, one of which being two flights to any City in Europe.

The night was enjoyed by all and once again we would like to thank all of our volunteers for their dedication and wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Aerobility proud to work with Muscle Dreams

Muscle Dreams are a specialist national charity delivering highly personalised experiences known as Muscle Dreams for children and young people in the UK living with the muscle wasting disease, Muscular Dystrophy and allied neuromuscular conditions.

Last year Aerobility teamed up with Muscle Dreams to deliver a fun filled day of flying for their service users which we are excited to be hosting again in 2015!

The latest AEP session was on the topic of How We Fly.  The four forces of flight were discussed - weight, lift, thrust and drag.  We had various demonstrations of all those forces and raced propeller driven cars, experimenting with different sized propellers and wheels.  It got very competitive!!!
